Road Trip vs. Flying

I am sooo ready to escape, again. I have discovered that Chapel Hill to Ottawa is a mere 830 miles. Wow. Then from there to Toronto another 450 miles. And the other one, I'm not sure exactly where he is in Canada. And it is cold up there. Brrrrrr. I have thought about flying and renting a car. The NE LAN is in April in Manchester, NH. I wonder..... There are so many, and spread all over the place. My friends I've never met. Some I feel I know as brothers or sisters, others, I'd just like to get to know. And there's Oregon. I now have 2 I'd like to visit there. 2 in Texas. California!!!! UK and Australia....the list goes on and on. My friend in Australia actually looked up the flight....only 20 hours! What to do.....

I looked up lonliness yesterday, cuz I believe I suffer from this malady. It talked about how one feels something is "missing" in their life, which may happen after an event such as divorce, a death, or the end of a relationship that was meaningful. For me, I'm not sure if it is any one thing. I remember my mother saying that she was lonely all her life cuz she was any only child. She wanted lotsa kids, and she got em! 6 of us. If she had lived long enuf, she would have seen many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She luved them all. I think I understand her lonliness more, now. She welcomed any and all family whenever......didn't matter. My recent problem is likely the loss of my grandbabies. I virtually raised both of them to school age. Now they are both in school and back to living full time with their parents. What I need is a baby to hug! Oh NO! Not one of my own. My time is past. But, due to circumstances beyond my control, the two gsons are the only ones I will ever have. So, J-Cat, I will indeed plan a trip to Ottawa so that i can meet you and your family and have a baby to hug! Any other takers?
