Man vs. Technology: Part Deux

In a bit of a better mood today. Finally got my 2 big technical issues straightened out. Got Windows re-installed on my PC, and my Halo 3 disc fixed.

Wanna know how I fixed the disc?   Toothpaste. Seriously.

It took 3 hours to get my PC to a point of stability. Once I got windows installed....I had to jump online and get Zone Alarm, and all my anti-virus/spyware software. Just using Internet Explorer for 5 minutes.....got me 10 viruses.

And that got really annoying because one of those viruses would reboot my computer every 10-15 minutes. So a full scan couldn't happen. So I had to set it to scan 1st thing when
the pc boots into windows.

Talk about annoying.

But the major hurdles are done...I've got Service Pack 2 installed and going smoothly. I let it run overnight to see if it reboots at all. It hasn't...so the virus thing has been taken care of 100% thankfully.

So by tomorrow I should have my PC back to where it was before....well mostly.

If you don't.....do yourself a favor and make a backup of your firefox bookmarks every so often. I forgot to...and now I gotta get ALL my bookmarks again. I backed up everything BUT that...woo...

In other news:
Haven't heard from Jules in a few days. I wonder whats going on there and if shes ok.

Reinstalling Windows from base, then applying SP1 & SP2 is a pain. Last time I had to do that I just stayed disconnected until SP2 installed and the virus scanner, firewall and other security software was installed. Then I could go online to pickup the post-SP2 updates without infection risk.

Well, now that it all works you could prepare a slipstream xp installation with SP1 & SP2 & updates for the next time...
