I finally got disgusted at Battefield2:MC and sent it back. It was just a basket-case of a game and a one trick pony ordeal. Yes, that one trick, swapping control to another NPC, was neat and occasionally useful, but it didn't make up for the almost entire lack of AI for the NPCs. The NPCs seemed to know of the objective, but not how to get there or how to stay assembled as a group. Too many times I found myself alone when I needed support and the only action to take was to swap with a far distant NPC and run it to where I need it (then try to find the NPC I had previously left). I should be fighting the enemy NPC, not trying to arrange a group into a semi-working team. Corralling cats should not be a main objective while playing an FPS.

Meantime, it'll be back to COD4 arcade on veteran. If I can play through the arcade maps I should be able to play through the campaign. The only map I can get through with relative ease is 'Death from Above', but then most people should be able finish that level with ease.

Looking outside of the gaming business, it looks more like the presidential campaign may be heading toward McCain v Obama. That will be a good match-up, since two republicans (McCain v Clinton) fighting it out would be nauseating. The only major hurdles I see for the democrats right now is that neither may get enough normal delegates to win the nomination so it'll be have to settled by the super-delegates. Hopefully the super-delegates all decide to honor the popular vote, even if it goes to Clinton, as that would give the appearance that the public voting actually mean something.

Another couple 'coffin nails' got hammered into HD-DVD format this week. Netflix decided to drop the HD-DVD format from rentals. They are taking the slow road and just not buying any new discs and letting the current inventory run-out through routine wear-an-tear. I guess if I and other HD-DVD folks want to rent discs we have to pickup Blockbuster TotalAccess. Weee...

The second nail came from BestBuy. They are going to start having their sales staff push Blu-Ray over HD-DVD. Hmmm, in the local BB & CC that has been the norm already for several months. I can't quite remember when the shelf-space in either store for the different formats were equal. Blu-Ray has always been given more space for discs and equipment.

The diet is progressing nicely. Since Saturday I've already lost +9 pounds. Ok, sure, you say, that is 'water weight', but how can't it be if I'm not exercising and still drinking the same daily quantity of water? Dunno. I just like the weight loss.

I'm planning on starting exercising real soon now. The weather in SoFla turned nasty and rainy over the last couple days so I dug out the elliptical trainer. I also managed to find and get the heart rate monitor working. Sure the trainer has a heart monitor, but the thing is not close to being accurate and I like to use the 'ski-poles' on the trainer (the monitor pickups are on a front grab-bar). All I've got to do is to find my comfortable exercise clothes and get the music playlist together.  I've got a bunch of Crystal Method, Infected Mushroom, Juno Reactor, etc. techno/trance tracks but 59 tracks is too limited so time to go through the entire collection for tracks I may have missed.

In addition to using the PC version of Fitday I'll be trying to keep the online going. It is too bad the designers didn't create an exchange between the two platforms. An import/export to/from web and PC would be great, especially if they included the custom foods category. At any rate, below is the link to the public journal...

Not really much there now, but I had to restart since the data was very stale and the account name was a really poor choice. As always, leave a comment or send a pm with any encouraging, or discouraging, thoughts and concerns.

Nice job. The water comment is accurate to a point. You would have had to short your body 32,400 calories to lose 9 pounds which is 8100 calories a day or more. If you changed your diet and are eating less than you are eating less carbs and probably less fiber. The amount of carbs and fiber consumed affect the amount of water you will hold. It is a positive sign though. Don't forget that weight variations of 5lbs are also normal. This is often water and contents of the intestinal track.
