St. Baldrick

I have some very weird friends.  People in the medical profession are more nuts than you could ever imagine.  We have a PA that puts these beautiful silk butterflies on all the IV poles, decorated the stairwell with hearts, flowers, more butterflies, whatever stickies he can find.  Not regular stickies.  More like 3D, maybe.  The butterflies look real, and the other things are made out of felt or some other material.  Very nice.  First time I saw the stairwell I just stood there and laughed.  I knew John had done it.

We also have a very morbid sense of humor.  ooooo, I won't go into that, but the day I came up behind Beth and whispered in her ear "I'm getting a group together.  We're going to take out the audit cop (Wendy, who checks our every documentation!).  You in?"  She swung around, took one look at me, and we were both laughing so hard we almost peed our pants.  Our boss walked by and just said she didn't want to know.  It is still funny.  We have NOT told Wendy her days are numbered, tho.

Now the serious, but still weird, thing that several of my friends are doing in March.  Yes, it is a good cause.  And, yes, it raises money for little kids with cancer.  But my hair?  Oh nooooooo, not me.  I wish I had a pic.  I have seen one, but it is not posted online.  My friends are going to go to a bar, yes, a bar, in Raleigh, and get their heads shaved.  Ack!  It is a fundraiser, and people all over the country are doing this.  They have been growing hair for a year, now, and some have quite a bit.  Ahhh, John has the most beautiful curly hair!  This time next month, GONE!  Wendy's is shoulder length.  Kelly's is almost to her waist.  It will be interesting to see what they all look like!  But, not me!  uh uh!  The name of the organization that sponsors this is St. Baldrick's Foundation.  Take a look.  It could be fun......
