Charlton Heston, 1925-2008

I was going to try to prepare a spectacular tribute to him, but i soon realized that there's no way I can do him justice. I'll just say that as one of my all time favorites. I grew up idolizing him, watching damn near all of his movies. He is irreplaceable will be sorely missed. Hollywood doesn't have enough people like him, I guess they never did.

Turner Classic Movies has preempted their schedule to pay tribute to him:

Friday, April 11th:
2:30 PM Private Screenings: Charlton Heston
3:30 PM The Buccaneer -1958
5:30 PM The Hawaiians
8:00 PM Private Screenings: Charlton Heston
9:00 PM Ben-Hur
1:00 AM Khartoum
3:30 AM Major Dundee

The IMDB Link: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000032/

You'll be seeing all the great clips from his movies like Moses parting the red sea, "Take your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape!" or, one of my favorites, "You gotta tell 'em. Soylent Green is People! Here's a clip they probably won't be showing too much of (and you may have forgotten).

R.I.P Chuck.

I was never a fan of his politics, but I was a huge fan of him as an actor. I saw him in person at the American Cinematheque Los Angeles. He was in person speaking before a newly restored print of "A Touch of Evil". It was a really great experience and one I will never forget. I will miss him, but we still have all his great roles to view again and again.
