All kidding aside, what does it mean? It means when I go back to work, I will be working from 7:30 until 3:30; I'll probably be gone before she's up. I pick her up it will be oh... quarter to - ten to 4 in the afternoon. She goes to be at 7:30. That is 3.5 hours a day with her plus weekends. It's just really tough, how on Earth will she still love me as much as she does now, when I will barely see her? Quitting my job is a non starter: I have a great career with the Federal Civil Service: lots of stability, lots of benefits. If I quit now, due to the changing language requirements, I doubt I could ever get back in.
Another thing I am worried aobut is her development. Erica is a huge talker, I mean she is talking in sentences (16mo), she is a clever little girl. Will that trend continue if she doesn't have one on one care? The daycare she is in looks really good. The ladies have been there for years, there is a great energy about the place, so that is a blessing. I have to keep my head on straight. She will be with lots of other kids, and will have fun.
But I'm gonna miss her so much.
so: all you parents with kiddos in daycare, how do you do it?
