Me DO!

Actualy it's "Eh-I- Tah DO! "  (Erica do for the uninitiated). Yes, today everything out of her mouth:  Eh-I-tah DO, Eh-I-tah DO!  It's hard to remember that not long ago she could barely poop by herself, now she wasn tto read and blow bubbles all by herself.  But isn't that everyone's goal?  Trying to think of "complex" things that she can do by herself that will make her feel good.

What else? Wrote a little thing re: gaming/life balance for the site, we'll see if it's published or not. If not: no big deal, I'lll throw it in my blog.  Basically I have been struggling of late to achieve a balance between real life and gaming. I have not had this problem in the past, and I am trying to figure out why it's popping up now.

Basically I have come up with the fact that I have diversified my gaming lifestyle so much. Before 2o2p I was an RPGer, and until I got my Xbox, it was all I played. Now I am into FPS with a clan , I rediscovered casual games. Crap these things are fun!  As always, I have my RPGs and now I have GTA... although that one may take a trip to EB games sometime soon. It's just hte pacing is off or something. I dunno. Anyway, I have all of these games and THEN I have my gaming/writing which, although it isn't really gaming, it takes up that niche.  I enjoy writing. I have GameFocus, I have been asked to (and love) writing for 2o2flank. Majer has asked me to blog and write editorials about tactics gaming or gaming in general.  It was one of these articles I modded to submit to Doodi et al.

While I am not complaining in the least, I jsut have to be much more aware of my time.  Sometimes I do feel guilty. 2o4BS often has major gaming sessions on the weekend, which are pretty much out for me. My husband and I have date nights on Friday nights and they are the highlight of my week. That being said, I don't get to game all night with the guys.  I know gamefocus wants me to do more, and I would love to, but I won't let myself get burned out. So, the word of the week is Balance.

so: you you lads n lasses have your gaming life in balance with your real life?

"So, the word of the week is Balance." Sounds like somebody watched a bad kung fu movie this weekend.

I'm balanced. I bought another 360 and a Wii so the kids would get off mine. All kidding aside. I normally game after the family goes to bed. Then again, I did buy those other machines so I wouldn't have to share.

That sounds like a very interesting article. Please share it as soon as you can :-) Indeed, too many games. By the way, says you're playing Final Fantasy XII. Are you playing through it for the first time? (One of my favorite games, and so looking forward to FFXIII.)

I dont really have much of a "real" life. I go to work, come home, sleep, work, sleep.... Only times I do "live" are when Im with my significant other. So when Im not with her, or sleeping or at work, I'm gaming. I prefer it that way. Sure some days I wish I had more friends, but its cheaper to stay home and game then it is to go out and get drunk all the time.

Nope, not yet. Real life is still the heavy side.
