Shared on Wed, 06/18/2008 - 05:24I've been driving overnight now for almost 4 weeks, they just hired a guy, training him for a week, then getting HIM on the road, putting me back to the normal 8-5 schedule. I get to work today to load my truck, and the St. Louis route driver tells me he's quitting Friday, he starts a new job Monday. But he's not telling our boss until Friday, (we're off Friday's).
So I say to myself...."FUCK"
Now I'm going to have to drive the St.Louis route for a month..........but then I got to thinking, the KC route may be a little longer, but the STL route has more bullshit to deal with, so I'm going in tomorrow earlier to talk to my boss, more or less "rat" the dude out for quitting, and suggesting that I keep my KC route until he hires ANOTHER driver, and giving my boss the "heads up" might turn things in my favor. Not that I'm a "rat", but I figure, I don't know the dude that well, and him quitting WILL affect me and my job, I'm just covering my ass.
DRAMA: Had all kinds of drama with my buddy from New Hampshire. We moved him back, gave him a place to stay, blah blah blah, massive drama, yada yada yada, flooded basement, blah blah blah, he is now moved out of our house to fend for himself for the first time EVER in his life.
Randomness: Does anyone ever notice that when big bands split up to do solo projects, that there solo projects end up sounding just like the band that they were in? Or just a dumbed downed version of the former band. Example....System of a Down split up to do solo stuff.......Serj the singer had the song "Empty Walls" , which sounded like a new System song,....now the guitarist and drummer of System have a project going called "Scars on Broadway" and the song "They Say", it too sounds like a System song. You be the judge:
Scars on Broaday.."They Say"

Serj Tankian...."Sky is over"

System Of A Down...."Old School Hollywood"
