I love "Scenes from the Next"  I can't recall exactly when they started doing it, but it is my favorite part of any TV show now.  It's the teaser at the end that gives you a 15 second peek at next weeks show.  There are some show that all I watch is scenes from the next....I just fast forward through the show with my DVR to get to that 15 second bit.

That's the good part.

What bugs me are these new "Just-back-from-commercial" Summaries.  At first it was 5-10 seconds.  Not bad.  A good way to pick back up from the distraction of those Crest Whitening Strips or Scott's Lawn Care ads.  But now....and Hell's Kitchen is the WORST about this.... it's like a 2 minute rewind of what happened right before the break!

Is it really that hard to fill up the time in a show???  It's annoying.  I dislike it.  And if I didn't have my DVR... it would probably keep me from watching the show.

I <3 DVR.  It's a multi-taskers dream.

What's worse are shows like Celebrity rehab, they not only did the 'back from commercial' recap, but they would do a teaser for what was going to be after the commercial, so you had a teaser, commercial, recap, content, teaser, commercial, recap...

exactly, it was incredibly insulting, and it's why I watched only 2 episodes.

And I thought we had a load of ads in this country. I tend to watch mostly American shows anyway and the 3 or 4 ad breaks annoy the tits off me and they're only just under training bra size. Hell's Kitchen....Gordon Ramsey....what a fucker.....but I love him!

I was thinking about that while watching Hell's Kitchen the other night....it's fucking retarded. I love Gordon Ramsey, I love the show...but without DVR I would watch way less TV, and I hardly watch any as it is.

These reality shows really don't have much to show you. For an hour long show there is really only 20 minutes of content. They have to keep repeating stuff to fill the whole hour. They all do it because they are crap. Your average human being just isn't that interesting. Your above average human being isn't even that interesting. Every time you watch a reality show, Baby Jesus cries. And you lose an hour of your life you won't get back.
