Customer Service FTW!

Most of the time, you say the words "customer service" and people cringe. We all have experienced piss poor customer service time and time and time again, and that is after sitting through the ever-elongating automated answering systems. 99.97% of the time, you're speaking with someone who couldn't even say that English is their second language without smirking. However, there are the rare occurances when all the planets align and there is a blue moon in the sky when a person can get really awesome service from a company. When this happens, for me personally at least, that company has a customer for life.

Tritton Technologies, Inc. is now one of those companies.

I picked up a set of the AX360s a few months ago when GTA IV came out so that I could play it when the kiddies are awake. Sound carries in my house like it was designed just for that fact, so even when the home theater is low you can hear it on another story and 4 rooms away. The headphones are aboslutely increadible, giving true 5.1 surround sound for a single person, while someone next to them can read in peace. But this blog isn't about the headphones.

For those who have seen them, they come with a small (size of a large deck of playing cards) decoder box where the headphones and TosLink cable plug into. On the box that came with my headphones, the input jack which the TosLink plugs into wasn't quite right. There was some play when the cable was plugged in that probably shouldn't be there. After trying to play around with it and then getting really frustrated with audio cutting in and out, I figured I would call Tritton's customer service. Number was easy to find, and within 10 seconds I got a live person (even if he sounded like Billy Bob sitting by a still ). I told him my problem, and without batting an eye he said "Well, that's not the way it should be. I'll get a new one out to you today." I asked if I needed to give a credit card or anything to secure the return, and he chuckled. "Nope, I have ya' covered."

Sure enough, a few days later, a second decoder box shows up, and all is well In Balek's life. Two huge for Tritton Technologies, Inc. Any stellar companies out there you've done business with and everyone should know about?

I had a mic cord fray and they sent me a new one, no questions asked. Later on something went wrong. Called them up and they told me to send them back. They shipped me a brand new set entirely. Problem is the forgot my wire to hook the blue box up to the 360. I called them and they said they would get one in the mail. They sent me another set of headphones by accident. Again no wire to hook it to the xbox. Called them again and they said keep them and they would send me two wires. They did and now I have two sets of Trittons. Trittons rock.

Their phone support might be good but their email support blows. I emailed them about a broken mic. Very, very long turnarounds between emails and when I finally got the piece, the replacement mic didn't work. I broke the right headphone brace and now it doesn't sit right against my ear. I wonder if I call them up, will they send me a new set...

You are right about email. They are slow. Give them a call and they will take care of you.
