I like to play a variety of games rather than just stick to one title. I've played the snot out of COD4 and COD3, and other games in the past. COD3 multiplayer achievements were pretty rough, and honestly most people stuck with COD2 because COD3's lobby was the suck.
I recently got in "Turning Point: Fall of Liberty" from gamefly, which is an awesome service if your not using it. It was a decent game, I've played way worse. As I do before I receive the game, I scouted the achievements and looked at what I needed to do to get as many of them as I could. Xbox Achievements. I always find it humorous when a non mainstream game has multiplayer achievements that involve thousands of kills or tons of matches played. Just for grins, I checked out the multiplayer for the game. There are 2 modes, team deathmatch or deathmatch. I didn't find any matches in TDM, no games were being played, and I tried deathmatch and got in a room with 2 other people. So it looks like those multiplayer achievements won't be getting unlocked for me on this game unless I boost.
Now there are a few other games that had multiplayer and achievements for it, which after playing the game your like why would anyone bother playing this in multiplayer. The History Channels Battle for the Pacific. The single player was terrible, so I was not surprised no servers were even running for the multiplayer when I checked it out. Soldier of Fortune: Payback was the same way. The single player was a little better, but there were no servers running any multiplayer. Timeshift was ok, but hardly anyone running the mp aspect. MOH: Airborne was ok for a bit on the mp games, then it faded out fast and hardly anyone plays it either.
It's just kind of frustrating when I want to get all 1000 achievement points and the game is so crappy that no one plays the multiplayer. I haven't boosted for any of the multiplayer achievements and I don't want to, but not getting the 1000 points irritates me also. There are a lot of games out there that are multiplayer achievement bust games. I guess I'll just have to take my 600 achievement points and call it good.
