New Bat Sketches

Saw The Dark Knight Friday night. I will try not to spoil it for those that haven't seen it yet. I thought it was very good. Probably one of the best villain portrayals to date. I wont be surprised to see Ledger nominated for an oscar. Although over all I think it was too long and that its story rambled a bit. It began to feel abit contrioved with the contstant elaborate Joker schemes. Compared to the previous flick, Batman Returns, this over all story wasn't nearly as tight and effective in my opinion. As compared with Iron Man i would say this was a tie. Very different films each doing better in its particular focus. Batman was more introspective with regard to its characters and their motivations and development and it was very effectively dark, Iron man was more humors and better with the technology effects and had a more clear and direct story.

I think really Dark Knight wasn't about the Joker. It really is the story of the origin of Two Face. The actor that played Harvey Dent was ok, but in my opinion he was the weakest of the cast. I liked the fight scenes which i thought were shot better so you got to actually see the fighting rather then quick cuts of arms and legs. I enjoyed the twist in the middle involving Gordon allot.

inspired by the new flick. I did this last night while watching TV with the wife. Its not meant to look like the Christian Bale Bat, more like a mix of traditional comic book Bat and the Paul Pope Bat from the Year 100 TPB.  One of my favorite recent Batman books. The Batmoblie, however, is from the new movies design, except I added fins :D
