- Mom, I need a packed lunch today for a field trip that leaves at 9am.
- Mom, I have to wear a red shirt, because it's red shirt day.
- Mom, you put my shoes on the wrong feet! (yes, I did)
Finally get out to the car, pulling out of the neighborhood and there are two ladies talking... and a momma cat and a baby cat in their arms.
Looks like Fenix.
So I stop.
Yes, It's momma cat and one other kitten.
Yes, the owner has tears streaming down her facing thinking that the other kittens died.
Yes, the momma cat lives mostly inside, but had gotten out to have the kittens and she just couldn't get momma cat to keep them in the house.
Yes, this lady actually was bringing food and water to the small drain where momma cat stayed.
Oh yes, the kittens were up for adoption - she was so glad to hear they weren't hurt.
Oh and ... Could you take the 3rd one too?
I haven't even told my husband yet. I told her I would ask. She works as a nurse and is hardly ever home she said. No one to play with the cats at all. Two kittens is just about all we can care for. But it was good to know that they weren't dumped or feral. The momma cat was up to date on all her shots, had a cute bell collar and everything. and to all those worried parties, no we don't plan on declawing them. But scratching posts will be installed at regular intervals around the house. They can't do much more damage than my daughter does.

I arrive with Hubby in tow around 11am that Thursday. Early Check-in Platinum FTW!
