It started with a freak accident at the gym tuesday night. I was doing some simple incline presses with dumbells. I had an 80lb in each hand and leaned forward while starting to stand up to put them back. I must have twisted to far to the side or something, because I heard cracking and felt something let go. I couldnt' put any weight on my left leg or it would just give out, so I had to slowly go from machine to machine till I could get to the bathroom and cry ( a manly cry of course).
Holy crap almighty is it painful. If you haven't done it before I don't recommend it. It's absolutely amazing how many movements require the use of your back. I guess I took it for granted until now. Now when I try to lay down, get up, roll over or walk I am blissfully aware of my back and its significant involvement.
It really is good news that its a sprain. That means soreness and muscle pain for a few weeks and then some gentle rehab and therapy. If it were a disc then I'd be royally screwed. For now, I'll just keep sitting here at my desk with my stim unit on my low back and liberal handfuls of biofreeze dripping down my ass crack.
Have a lovely day folks.
