Shared on Fri, 08/01/2008 - 10:35I got kicked from a Warhawk game last night. Now, I would understand if I had done something stupid, wrong, slow, or bad. I was holding my own, and doing just fine, so what in the heck was kicking me all about. YOU DON'T KICK ME! OK, maybe you can, but you better have a darn good reason. OK, maybe you don't, but I'll tell you what, you little *&%#, I'll start my OWN game! And I'll keep all the little teens that can't take being killed over and over again OUT! If you can't take it, you should leave and go learn how to shoot (for one thing)....and fly! I'm not great -- still learning -- but kicking me for killing you...is...is...well, it just frustrates me. I guess I'm not used to being 'kicked' in any manner, by anyone, and by a snothead kid....no...no...no.... Aaaarrrrgh!
Something stranger in another game: I go in, am automatically assigned to the blue team and immediately get shot down by two red planes. OK, fair enough. I figure the blue team really needs my help (I'm a sucker for the underdog). So, I regenerate, zoom off quickly and see three red planes all trying to kill me, which they do. OK, these guys are good, but where are my blue comrades? I'm playing a dogfight game, so I know they're not on the ground stealing flags and such. So, where are they?? I'll take the challenge, I regen again, but this time fly to the safety of a little known, out of the way corner and wait. Look around a little and wait some more. With time on my hands, I read all the detailed data on the edges of the screen, and WHAT??!? There are seven red planes and one blue -- me. And they're not shooting each other, just looking for me and wiping me out as soon as they can!
What's that all about? At first, I wondered if they are a team of friends waiting for some worthy blue opponents. But then it dawns on me that they'll never get another seven or so to join if they always waste the first newcomer in the game. Anyone trying to join will just do what I did, try a few times, and move on to a nicer place. After pondering this overnight into the next morning (and I know one should never try too hard to figure out what's going on on the net), my only remaining hypothesis centers on the image (one I can't shake, no matter how hard I try) of a den of red team homowarhawkers. Heaven knows what they went back to doing when I left and there were no prying blue eyes around. They weren't shooting each other, sooo…. It shows that there are sites on the internet for everyone. Viva la difference!! Or something.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go meditate. My mantra... kill the bonehead....kill the bonehead......kill ALL boneheads. . .
