Stepping into the field.

Greetings from the 402.  

402 being my area code which is located in the great state of Nebraska.   

        Yes gaming is live and well here in Nebraska  and I intend to write about the hobby that is near and dear to my heart and give it that straight talk just like folks here in the midwest give about all subjects.   Hopefully I can also throw in some other issues and things on my mind but I will try to keep this blog centered on gaming and interactive entertainment in general.   

       I'll start with a bit about myself.  I will try to keep this short since there really isn't much to tell.  I'm a married 32 year old father of three who also happens to be a closet hardcore gamehead.    That's right I hide my dirty little secret from the world.   Where I grew up there was no time for video games.  Being from a farm family where hardwork and long hours were all you should want in life I was lucky my mom was a maverick and purchased me a atari 2600 for my birthday.  The rest of course is history.   

     I'm a adult now and gaming still remains my favorite form of entertainment.   I have owned just about every major console that has came out in the last 20 years also with a major stint into pc gaming during my college years (When playing pc games was a elitist thing)   I have played just about every genre of game out there with my favorites being rpg's,action/adventure,sports and shooters.    I even had a two year WoW addiction I called mine main tank syndrome.   So I can confidently say I have a pretty deep background in gaming.

Currently I own all three consoles and am having fun with all three.   So the term fanboy does not apply.  I try to play the best games that the console has to offer.    My favorite right now even though the hardware is of questionable quality is the Xbox360.  Mainly on the strength of it's online features.   Ps3 is second but is catching up quick.   Third is the Wii which my kids and my wife enjoy.   I will jump on it occasionally when the big N blesses us with there always great 1st party games.  Mario,zelda etc.  

So that's about it.  I hope to make regular entries  in this about gaming or life in general.  Also hope to meet new friends cause I'm always down for online gaming.   So take it easy folks.
