Buy or rent? Games of august

Greetings from the field. 

Wanted to make another post here cause I'm waiting to get off work.   It is beginning to be that time of year friends.   Summer is starting to come to a close and the gaming industry is starting to ramp it up for the holiday season.  So I wanted to go over my list of games which are on my radar as possible pickups or ones that will remain in the dreaded rental section.   I wont be going over the pc industry for this.  Honestly I dont play pc games very much anymore if at all.  Mainly because my pc is getting older and I dont see a reason to upgrade it when most games out for pc come out for consoles as well.   If I ever upgrade to a better pc and start again I sure will add it in the future.    
 

So I will start off by console and write my thoughts on which games I feel should be looked into and ones I think would make a rental.   Your opinions may not be the same as mine I welcome feedback on this subject always.

Xbox 360

Madden NFL 09   release date August 12.     Yes it will have issues and of course EA is considered the devil of the game industry but let's face it.  No other game out there gives you so much pleasure to whoop your friends.   From the recent demo to the previews it looks like madden will be a much more polished and fun experience then previous versions for this gen.   It gets my vote for a buy.   If you like football what else is there????  Damn EA :)

Too Human release date August 19  This is the game that has had ten years of development and a lawsuit under it's belt before it was ever released.   My opinion about this game is based off of it's demo.  Sad to say it but I give this one a rental status.   Mainly because the demo just did not grab me as very exciting.   Maybe if SK would have allowed me to try multiplayer with a friend (This games only saving grace I suspect) I would change my mind.   Just seemed clunky and was trying to do too combine to many types of gaming.  I got the impression it was trying to be Devil may cry mixed with Diablo.  

Mercernaries 2 World in Flames  I played the first game for the xbox and enjoyed it . If you are into sandbox games ala GTA then this one should fit your bill.  If it's like the first expect huge explosions and mayhem.    Not much else to say about it.  My verdict is rental simply cause I'm not that into those style of games. 

PS3

Madden NFL 09 see above 360 reference.  Unless they take the easy route and make it a subpar port then I would say it's a buy for Ps3 owners as well.  If not then rental.  Cause there is no excuse that it cant be just as good as the 360 version.  

Disgaea 3: Absense of Justice.  Well it may not be a huge release rpg but it's still a rpg for people who purchased the ps3 simply because the Ps2 was such a great rpg console.   Not much buzz on this one at all.  I will have to read up more on this.   Right now it's under rental status.  

Vampire rain Altered species  This one was garbage on the Xbox 360 and most likely will be garbage on the Ps3.  Not sure why they even brought this one over.   This one isnt even a rental in my mind let a lone a buy.   Try it at yoru own risk. 

Mercernaries 2 World in Flames same as above for 360 version.  

Wii

Wow all I can say if looking at this list nothing for Wii even makes me give them a second glance.    Nothing in August worth renting or buying coming out for the big N console.
