Reflections

As I look in the mirror, I see a reflection of a man only I can see

The longer I look, I wonder, what does my reflection see in me

Lines cut deep in my skin, scars of sorrow and joy

Life and death, happiness and pain, and the birth of my only boy

The face I see now, is not the same face I saw reflected years ago

Time and life has weathered me, and my age is starting to show

Hair once blonde, then black, now turning grey

My reflection shows how hard I live my life

In the beginning and at the end of the day

Life is what you make of it, from beginning to the end

Your reflection shows you the results, it is your most honest of friends

Next time you look in the mirror, worry not about your appearance

But reflect on the past, family and friends

And life thats left to experience.

--I havent written in years.......I used to all the time, be it poems, lyrics or what ever, I call this one a written thought

Why you sentimental ol cuss. I can picture you jaunting down highway I-75, crooning poetry, uttering sweet nothings as your words vanish into thin air, with echos of the CB radio in the background. This does not fit your outward appearance...you ol sweet softy = )
