Ok, that was a trick question. After walking out of the theater last weekend still in awe over what The Dark Knight put forth, I'm now brought back to the special performance that Jack Nicholson pulled off. While completely different than the Joker Heath Ledger gave us, I'm not more convinced that different does not mean inferiour. Yes, Jack's character was more aloof, more of a stageman...hell, an attention wh0re, but given the time the movie was produced and the nature of comics at that time, it was appropriate. Nowadays, comics are inheriently darker, more foreboding, just plain scarier. And, as I mentioned in my initial review of the movie, Ledger delivered in spades.

What's the real point behind the blog? Well, don't forget that just because one translation of a story - or in this case a character - rocked the world, previous editions don't have to lose their value.

I agree with Tank. Loved them both, although I prefer Heath's Version much more.

I liked both jokers, they were totally different. Jack's Joker was more an intellect, a criminal mastermind. Heath's Joker was more a deranged insane criminal.
