LAN news

Oh man, what a party!  As far as I can tell, everyone is pretty much behaving themselves.  Nice.  I played WoW with the big boys for a good part of the afternoon yesterday.  I just can't keep up!  They are fast, hit hard and quick, and I'm still standing there saying "where are you guys?"  Then we went and grabbed something to eat and a beer (ya, I am even drinking beer, a little....) and kinda split up to do our own thing.  Mine?  People watching and mingling.  I got the bartender to open my bottle of wine....he's sooooo nice. 

So, what's going on at the LAN?  A lot of Rock Band.  It's fun to watch, but.....  It is a hoot to hear the singers.  Not inhibited at all, i would say.  The ones I was watching were MikeJames, DSmooth, and LB(whatever those numbers are).  they all have decent voices, I guess.  And they have soul!  And Halo 3 seems to be going on everywhere.  I hear the beginning music over, and over, and over......  Amazing that I can hear it at all.  The noise level is humungous, although it basically just sounds like a very loud hummmmm.  Other games?  Not really sure.  Just about every monitor had some kind of FPS going on, and I think I saw football once.  I though Civ Rev would be a biggie, but I haven't seen it.  course, that doesn't mean it's not there!

The streaming of the lan just does not do it justice at all!  I watched for a while, and all you see are blurry people walking back and forth, and the same people gaming at the same consoles.  So, Meemoos and I decided to make some faces at the webcam.  Maybe somebody saw that??  lol  I was also offered a dollar to dance, but the rock band music is soooooo undancable.  Hmmm, I think that is a new word.

Fuck is an English word that, as a verb, means "to have sexual intercourse" or "to engage in coitus with". It can be used as a noun describing a disagreeable, offensive or unpleasant person (also fucker); its participle "fucking" is sometimes used merely as a strong emphatic. Its use is profane and considered obscene, offensive or vulgar in formal, polite and politically correct circles. On the other hand, it may be common in informal and domestic situations, or among culturally liberal social groups and types.

It is unclear whether the word has always been considered vulgar, and if not, when it first came to be used to describe (often in an extremely angry, hostile or belligerent manner) negative or unpleasant circumstances or people in an intentionally offensive way, such as in the term motherfucker, one of its more common usages in some parts of the English-speaking world.

The root fuck is used not only for the verb (both transitive and intransitive), but may also be used to form an emphatic adverb or adjective, a noun, and interjections of various kinds. It appears in several compounds, such as:

• Fuck off, as a command, to leave forthwith, go away; in American English (AmE) as a verb, to fool around, be idle.
• Fuck over, to take advantage of, exploit.
• Fuck up, to bungle, or ruin or spoil especially through stupidity, ignorance or carelessness; to blunder, or act foolishly or stupidly (AmE) & Australian English (AuE) .
• Fuck around, to act foolishly or stupidly (or alternatively to be unfaithful to one's partner or spouse).
• Fuck with, to meddle with.

A fuck can designate a sexual partner. In less explicit usages (but still regarded as vulgar), fuck can mean to mess around, or to deal with unfairly or harshly. In a phrase such as "don't give a fuck", the word is the equivalent of "damn", in the sense of something having little value. In "what the fuck", it serves as a meaningless intensive.

Well, Wikepedia never mentions "male bonding rituals".  All of the above may be true for the most part, but at this party, you are not in with the in crowd unless you have been called a "fucking bitch" or some similar thing.  Wattup bitches is another term of endearment.  As well as refering to various male parts and where one might put them.  I am really shocked and amazed at how nicely I fit in with these people.  OMFG!  I think I have passed my initiation!  w00t!
