getting home and, man, did i crash

I shuttled to the airport with some of the others around noon.  My flight wasn't until 4:30, but I was out of my room, people were clearing out rapidly, so, what the heck, I have a book, so off I go.  I, again, had one too many carry-ons, so I tried, and I tried to shove my purse somewhere.  They ended up accepting it with 3/4 of it hanging out of a front pocket on my laptop bag.  What a joke.  I read and drank latte for a while.  Read some more.  Tried to get on my laptop but found they wanted $$$$ to use their wireless.  NOT!!!!  Back to the book.  Finished it.  Bought another.  James Patterson is a very fast read, especially since you can't really put his books down.  Had some lunch.  Passed on the chair massage.  I get those free every Thursday at work.  More boring airport acitivity, then, yay!  My flight is on time and we board.  Fast forward to Raleigh-Durham airport.  Whew!  Much hotter and muggier.  So, as per our prior arrangement, I got on a park & ride bus, shuttled out to the agreed upon parking lot, and, WTF!!!!!  No Hubby!  Is this payback, or what??  So I called him and he was still home, waiting for me to call him!  Yikes!  I am sitting in a semi-dark parking lot, reading a James Patterson novel about a serial rapist, and I have to wait half an hour for him to come and get me.  Needless to say, i will pay the parking next time and drive myself.

After a full hour of "I don't want to discuss this" silence, I finally started to tell hubby some of the mischief that I got into.  The truth is, the Lan was a lot tamer than I thought it would be.  It was just good fun.  Nobody got out of control (that I know of).  Everybody was sooooo nice.  Being recognized was something new for me.  I am shy (YES I AM!) and usually leave parties very, very early.  This was a test, and I passed!  And, I finally slept.  No early morning insomnia today!  Wow!  I slept in until 8:00!  I haven't slept that late for literally years.  What I am missing now is Bubba and Tammy.  We ate breakfast together every morning.  Nice.
