Great Scot!!

I'm sure nobody actually watches tennis, but I do. It is my closet sport. The one that I can't get enough of, but won't tell anyone that I watch. Well, my new favourite player, Andy Murray from Scotland, who I first noticed when he was playing in Wimbledon this year, just defeated #1 seed, Rafael Nadal in the Semis. I am so stoked that he will have the opportunity to play against 'possibly' the best tennis player of all time, Roger Federer in the final.

It's not that Andy lucked himself past Nadal, or that Nadal was injured either. This kid, who is only 21, has the quickest and most effortless movement, a very efficient and compact backhand and is so court aware. He flat-out, out-played Nadal in a two-day event due to rain. Andy took the first two sets on Saturday, dropped the third today, and then was able to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the fourth to win 6-4.

For those who care, the scoreline was 6-2, 7-6(7-5), 4-6, 6-4.

He will play Roger on Monday at 5pm EST. This kid has a solid chance of beating him. If you enjoy tennis in the least, you should check this final out.

X.

Actually federer is not the greatest player in tennis history, you'd really have to understand the great strides Rafael Nadal has taken to become number 1, upsetting federer at wimbledon with a far less superior serve honestly makes me feel like Nadal is the clear number 1. And I realize in tennis everyone has this what has he done for me recently idea, but nadal is still learning to playing harder surface courts. If you want to see how dominating he is on an athletic court watch him demolish people on clay. He made Roger federer look stupid at the french open this year. Nadal is still extremely young and is actually quite an amazing player. I think though there are 3 greats out there right now and Murray is has done some impressive stuff but right now I think Djokovic, Federer and Nadal all have the stuff to become legends of the game.

Federer "possibly" the best player in tennis history? no sir, he IS! i was disappointed that Roddick lost. He just seems like the kind of guy you could hang out with and have a beer and never know he's a top-ranked tennis player. My grandparents had a tennis court when I was young so I've enjoyed tennis for awhile.
