It's 2 AM do you know where your Poochie is?!


I hear wimpering outside, a doggie sound. I look out and what do I see View Image a huge cream Lab (I think) looking back at me View Image  We looked at each other  View Image View Image. I thought "oh great!" I open up the door and in he runs (think it's a him) He's so strong he pulls little ol char across the room before I can get him to stop. I didn't get him to stop, he stopped on his own.


We look at each other some more View Image Then he starts loving all over me View Image He looks really happy and worried at the same time. Stays really close to me. I take him back outside to see if someones looking for him, and get my neighbour up to help. No one is looking for him, it's dark, cool and late. I stand wondering what to do with this huge thing leaning on me. I gave him water and some steak (no leftovers for me) and chicken. He inhaled and the food was gone.!!!  I'm not even being funny! It was gone and fast. We look at each other again. View Image


This dog is well cared for, he's spotless and well trained. Thinking of what to do, I came up with the bright idea of putting him in the laundry room. I cleaned it up so he can't get into trouble, put lots of old blankets down. Then I call the police, give them all the info on him that I have, collar, no tags, BIG dog. They didn't have any owners of lost dogs calling.  :cry:  What do I do with him? They said I have to keep him till morning View Image 


I put him in the laundry room, he starts crying, I put him next to me he goes to sleep wakes up crying and barkin. Wow can that big thing bark!  I put him outside, he's barking even worse!!! I mean non-stop!!!! I giving him a little more time to see if he clams down. Do I know about dog??? NO! They bark and smell funny. View Image How do you get a dog to sleep?


Now, if you'll excuse me, no sleep for Char. . .

Well, nice of you to let the dog in...and good thing it wasn't mean. On a side note...I just looked up and saw your occupation...aren't you supposed to run from them...not let them in the house? lol. Wait...where was I...ummm...crap. Useless sides thoughts 1...Hermit 0.

I do run from them, but this one was lost and really in need of food and water. He looks really clean and no smell. I thought all doggies smell bad. He's still barking. The police will not come and get him. So I'm stuck with him till morning. Then I'll see what can be done. As long as they don't hurt him. \r \r I will check with the neighbours to see if someone owns him or know where he belongs. He's a really nice looking Lab. I'm so so so so tired, way way way past my bedtime. He's starting to bark less! Oh please!

hehehe...I'm up at odd hours...got used to little sleep. Well, I hope he settles down enough for you to get some rest. Hopefully tomorrow you will be able to find its owner. If nothing else...he might have one of those chips with his owner's info that they can track him down with.

Are you supposed to find the sleep warp pipe? Just saying. How about laying down next to it. Give it a bath then see if it will go to sleep and next time you go out side go with it.

If you have a local Animal Control, call them to find out if anyone is looking for their lost dog. There should be a central location in your area where lost and found pet information goes. Clearly he is owned and somehow found himself lost. Poor thing! I am so glad you \"let\" him in! You might also want to drive around and see if any signs are posted. \r \r If not, are you up for a new pet? :)

Dont forget to post a picture in Trans' doggie thread!\r \r I agree, take him to the pound where his owners can find him. He may have a microchip in him that gives info about who he is. It also connects him to the doggie patriots sop and allows him to share info about what butts to sniff, etc.I've played waaay to much mgs.

I think it may be too late now, but take him for a run around the block, just enough to get his heart rate up. they will sleep for a while after that. if you decide to keep him I can give you tons of tips, we use to raise guide dogs for blind people.
