For those of you that asked, here's a brief description of my novel. Call it a teaser trailer. I hope it's enough to entice you to want to read it once I finally finish it. And in case I didn't mention it before, it's a fantasy, and yes, I'm a nerd.

 

Princess LeyLhanna of the Guardians and her wolf familiar, Darkmoon, are sent to the small village of Boulder Hill to investigate rumors of people disappearing. They arrive to find the village completely deserted with no sign of what might have happened to the residents. In the hope of finding a clue, they decide to spend the night in the village and continue their investigation in the morning. But when Darvon, a wizard of the Peacegiver Order, arrives in the dead of night in search of the princess with grave news about her clan, LeyLhanna's life is changed forever.

 
Alorians, an ancient enemy of the Guardians, have invaded the realm of Velsiim, bringing with them a plague that not only infects the local populace, but mutates them into feral creatures that fight for the enemy's cause. Thrust into a position of power and authority she never wanted, LeyLhanna must fight to save the realm from an enemy that is closer to her heart than she knows.
 
The bond LeyLhanna shares with Darkmoon not only allows the two of them to communicate with each other, it allows them to join their two minds and bodies together to create a Hybrid. It is a creature that is neither woman nor wolf, but a powerful and intelligent culmination of the two. She is voracious in battle, but she cannot defeat the enemy alone. She must learn to depend on others if she is to unite the realm and lift her fellow Guardians from the shadows of myth and legend.
 
Along the way, LeyLhanna must also battle her heart. She falls in love, but she must keep her forbidden desire a secret not only from him, but from her husband as well. Her most powerful enemy just may prove to be her own emotions.

so wait a minute, pricess leia has sex with her wolf? dude, that's nasty. i saw a german movie like that once. i couldn't go to a petting zoo after that for like forever!

Lux watches animal porn, lux watches animal porn... Guardian: thanks for posting. Sounds like a great book. Now, here's the questions... How are you writing your characters? Does Darkmoon have a personality? Do we "hear" him? Two beings merge into one: male/female animal/nobility are these themes that you explore throughout? Also: why is there a love story? How does the love story push forward the action, or make your characters deeper?

J: Darkmoon does have a personality. "She", by the way. When LeyLhanna and Darkmoon communicate, it's italicized like internal dialogue to show it's being done through the bond. There are also several parts throughout that's written in Darkmoon's POV. She's an actual character in the story, not a prop. The bond, the merging, and the thoughts of the Hybrid are explained in detail in the story and all are seen throughout the story. As for the love story, it is definitely an integral part of the plot, not just something thrown in, and it's not T and A. Darvon understands LeyLhanna and helps her grow. He encourages and supports her, something her husband doesn't do. Darvon helps her realize her true potential, to let go of her guilt, and to be proud of who she is. I hope this helps.
