NASCAR anyone?

I am not the biggest fan, but I did go to the race yesterday.  PIR has great hillside seating and it's only $35 per adult and kids under 12 are free.  We went with some friends who were visiting from out of town who have 2 kids the same age as my two oldest kids.  The kids had fun goofing around on the hill and listening to the amazing sound of a 780HP engine running at 9000 RPM.  Overall, we had fun, but there were a few letdowns...

Jimmy Johnson won AGAIN, and there wasn't much deviation in the finish from the way the race started.  This all leads up to what will be a largely uneventful race next weekend.  As long as Johnson does not DNF next week, it's over.  Last, but not least the weather was HORRIBLE.  It was quite cold (for the Phoenix area anyway), and the wind made it unbearable.  We haven't had rain in a while and so we were pretty much sitting in a dust storm the entire time.  We left at around lap 230 because the dust was so bad at that point.

Oh yeah, and I smashed the back window in our van when I shut the tail gate too hard.  What's $300 among friends though? Grrr!
