No nice way to say it.

Guardian

Doing some writing this morning and getting very frustrated. Between three thesauri and two dictionaries I can find very few nice terms to describe a chubby woman, especially a beautiful chubby woman. 95% of the terms are mean and depict a nasy, disgusting, or ugly person. Are we, as a society, really so narrow minded that heavy people, women in particular,  just cannot be seen as attractive? Do you have to be thin to be beautiful? I don't think so, but am I the only one? I see a lot of heavy women that are more attractive than a lot of thin women. I just don't think size is relative to beauty.

I blame Hollywood and the fashion industry.

Botticelliesque, Ample Busomed and Healthy Looking right off to top of my head. My biggest suggestion would be why can you simply not describe her as you would any other beautiful woman? Just because some narrow minded people wouldn't consider your subject beautiful, doesn't mean that you couldn't describe her as simply that. You're the author my friend, you paint the picture and may use whatever brush you deem fit.

Azure: To obtain full character description, he must mention size. In addition to height, hair style, clothing, and all other features that would enable the reader to visualize said character in their minds. I do like Botticelliesque. Very descriptive! And yes, Guardian, we are that narrow minded. Women are to blame as much as men in this. When every photo that appears in a magazine is air-brushed, and female celebrities make the news for leaving the house without make-up (SHOCKING! She looks human!), we are visually trained to a certain standard of beauty. Feminist around the world will applaud you if portray a beautiful character who is larger than a size 5.
