My Christmas

Merry Christmas, 20ld2play!

For me, Christmas is actually over.  Christmas Eve is the big day, and we did it up right last night.  My littlest booboo had a nasty cold and was on antibiotics for yet another earache, but he managed to have a good time, anyways.  We ate our dinner, ham & sweet taters, broccoli & cheese casserole, banana bread and apple pie, all made from scratch.  It was a little strange combination, but I did not make out a shopping list for the shopper, so he bought a ham and, well, I was on my own after that.  Not knowing my way around a grocery store any more, I looked around and just started pulling things out that we already had.  It turned out great!  And, yes, I peeled and sliced the apples and rolled the dough myself for the pie.   It was fun, but, fortunately for me, I only do it a couple times a year.  Oh, yeh, I smashed the bananas and baked the bread myself, too.

What did I get for Christmas?  Well, I did NOT get my usual Christmas wish.  Note to Jay:  not even spankings, but interesting thought!  We did get the HDTV set up, thanks to the strong young men that are my grandson and son-in-law.  And the gsons are happy cuz they got the old one for gameplaying.  The interesting thing that I got from my daughter almost made me cry.  She spent a looooong time scanning pictures of my entire adult life and putting them on this cute little "I don't know what to call it" that just scrolls thru them one by one.  And there are about 100 of them!  They start with me, as a teenage mother, holding my newborn son.  Thank god she didn't start with the first wedding pics.  Blah!  Then the pics all progress to my baby boy at different ages until I had my little girl.  There are pics that make my heart ache, especially since my son has been mentally sick for sooo long.  Ah, he was such a beautiful child, it would make you cry to look at him.  Oh, right, you prolly wouldn't, but, I would.  It has pics of my family, my kids growing up, my daughter's wedding, my grandbabies.....Ah, it is the most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me.  My little girl.
