Dad Who Named Son After Hitler Decries Removal

NEWARK, N.J. —  New allegations from the father of three New Jersey children who have names associated with Nazis.

Heath Campbell told The Associated Press yesterday that the state Division of Youth and Family Services took his children under false pretenses. He also claims his daughter appeared neglected when he saw them last week.

Campbell says he and wife Deborah have been allowed to see their children once since they were removed from the family's home Jan. 9.

Campbell says his 2-year-old daughter, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, appeared sick and had a runny nose and dirty diaper when they visited with the children.

DYFS hasn't said why JoyceLynn and her siblings — 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who'll be 1 in April — were removed.

A DYFS spokeswoman said yesterday that confidentiality laws prevent the agency from commenting on specific cases.

I don't know what's more bothersome...the doofus that named his kid Hitler or the DYFS people that seemed to take the kids away merely for that reason.

Confidentiality laws don't permit DYFS from speaking about the case, and the father/mother probably won't give a true answer. It seems unlikely they took the kids due to their names, but who knows...?

Well...that's lame...those poor kids. Not only do they have stupid parents, but their names will haunt them the rest of their lives...and they're in the national news spotlight...

seemed to... would you trust the word of that guy? Family services don't ever want to take kids away from their folks. I am sure something was up.

I don't even know *what* to say. These people had kids. Sad.

J-cat...I agree, but social services isn't helping themselves out at all by not elaborating. I don't believe there's any confidentiality issues.

They can always change their names. We'll cross our fingers that they grow up and realize that while Hitler was a best-selling novelist, he was not a good man, and what happened in WW2 will always be a tragedy to the human race and they decide to go ahead and give up their Aryan tributes.

There are always confidentiality issues...I think it's disappointing that they released the names of those kids...however disappointing the names are.

Yeah, I'm confused. They release the names of the kids but not the nature of the cause for taking them. I was under the impression that in order to have your kids taken, you have to commit a crime (abuse, neglect, contributing to delinquency, etc...). And if you're convicted of a crime, it's usually a matter of public record.
