Now Playing

Or at least "now learning to play"...

I mentioned how last week I went ahead and learned Twilight Zone by Golden Earring.  I'm still working on (and actually making progress with) Hotel California, so thats exciting for me anyway because I really like the bassline for that song.  My son and I stopped at Subway last night and they had the old Tommy James version of Mony Mony playing, so I thought that might be fun to learn.  I only had the Billy Idol version on my computer so I learned that last night.  I tried to tab it but the tabs...surprise surprise...sucked and were totally incomplete.  So in a nutshell I at least learned the key the song was in and took it from there.  So thats kind of a pleasant surprise for me, that I could figure out a song that quickly pretty much on my own.

I'm also putting together a version of Thunderkiss 65 by White Zombie.  This one I do need tabs for lol, think I found some good ones.  I had tried working on this back when I first started playing but it was too hard.  Now, I'm happy to say, its not...its just a matter of remembering the parts and where they go.

We should have enough members now for the musician's clan which I believe will be called 2old2jam (I think thats correct anyway) and JCotter will be the grand poobah.  We're just waiting to hear from TPTB and hopefully we'll be up and running in no time.  Watch this space (and probably the OT board) for details!
