Shared on Thu, 02/26/2009 - 09:45I noticed these posters at my daughter's school and just had to shake my head. They are from a campaign to promote literacy program awareness in Oklahoma, called Read Y'all, which is sponsored by our library system. The first one I saw featured our governor, Brad Henry, and his wife. Apparently, they are using anybody with any hint of being a celebrity in the state, such as James Garner, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood and Garrett Mills.
I'm all for promoting literacy, but shouldn't we promote literacy without resorting to butchering grammar?
Here's some sample posters, sorry about the size, but the one I took with my cellphone didn't come out so hot.
