Epic Fail

So I am chillin' out with a couple of my black buddies here at work and I blurt out, "Hell yeah, it's clan night tonight'!

Good thing I ducked.....

I had to explain the whole clan thing and differentiate between A clan and "The Klan".

I think that here in the South you have to be especially careful about race relations. There is a lot of racism still going on, and the racism goes both ways. There are still KKK meeting places that operate in the open and they have a presence at most of the gun shows I have been to. There is also a big Nation of Islam movement growing here. The Mexican gangs are fighting the white gangs who are fighting the black gangs. Asians stay on their part of town and don't mingle with anyone else. I NEVER see an asian girl with a white guy or a black guy. Everyone hates the illegal Mexicans for 'taking our jobs'. (BTW - They are doing a job I wouldn't do. I am not cleaning up a bathroom full of piss or working in the sun for 10 hours straight getting blisters on my ass.) Katrina was a nightmare for us because crime was rampant and of course black folks got the blame. We have a soul food restaurant that is openly against white folks. It is all around us all the time.

My prejudice is towards a more broad range of stereotypes. I will avoid any contact with ultra conservatives, overly religious people, liars, fathers that don't take care of their kids, woman beaters, people who have their pants hanging off their ass, Timmies, Eminem wannabe's, and those who can't appreciate a good game of beer pong. Be they black, white or asian, I will run from you like the plague.
