New England: If you don't like the weather, wait a minute.

This weekend in southern New England was wonderful. The forecast on Thursday was warm with precipitation. The actual weather was just warm and sunny on Saturday and warm and cloudy on Sunday. It was great, I was in shorts and a tank top because relative to the temperatures this winter it felt like it was 90 degrees. I drove around with my sunroof open and windows down. Along the way I noticed all the people working on in the yards and children playing on the lawns and in the driveways. Birds were singing, motorcycles cruised the roads...SPRINGTIME IS HERE!

Not really.

This weekend was just a teaser.

As I write this on Monday it is 30 degrees outside and it has been snowing on and off for 4 hours now. One day makes that much of a difference here. A 30 degree swing in temperature and ugly grey skies looming above once again. It's no wonder people get depressed in the winter.

Too bad I'm not going to Nicaragua today instead of the middle of April.
