Cruising and Reading...

PSA! PSA!

If you live in a colder climate, scooter and motorcycle season has officially started (according to Dean). For the sake of my husband that I worry about everytime he's on his scooter, please don't:

A - Be a geriatric that should give up his license because he's dangerous on the road.

B - Be a soccer-mom yelling at kids and putting on lipstick and not paying attention to the road.

C - Be a 16-year old seeing how fast his 96 civic will go.

D - Be an average dude with road rage over any of the above.

See Scooterists and Motorcyclists! They have wives (and husbands) that love them!

On to Kindle 2...I've had it for about a week now and I love it. I don't think it's worth the cost unless you have a serious Barnes and Noble problem. Then, new releases are about half the cost and it will pay for itself in no time. On the bus yesterday I found myself reaching for a page to turn, I had completely forgotten that I wasn't holding a book. I'm almost done with my first book on it and I can't wait to order the next. It's so damn simple. It just shows up. And when you're done with a book, you delete it and it's archived on your Amazon account. I love the fact that I don't have to worry about storage on my PC. And bookmarks, notations, wikipedia, and dictionary...oh my. Love. There are also a wealth of classic books that are free or just a few dollars. If you have any recommendations, please comment and let me know.

Happy St. Patricks Day.

Hardest thing about riding a scooter? Telling your parents your gay. Sorry. One of my favorite jokes. Also works for- rollerblading, apple-picking and buying a Mazda Miata.

As a motorcyclist thank you for this post! However you did forget the biggest offender of dangerous drivers. Those that talk on their cell phone, you may think you can talk and drive at the same time, but you cant do it well. 90% of my incidents are with people not seeing me because they are on autopilot while talking on their phone, or cant see me because the cell phone blocks your view (or makes you turn your head less so you miss the fact there is someone right next to you.) I have been lucky and never been hit but I have been forced off the road several times, and had more "close calls" than I care to think about.

Riding a scooter is like riding a fat girl. It's only fun if your friends don't see you. But seriously, a scooter? Those are for teenage girls and Italians...in Italy. Take a picture of him on it for us.

I still like holding a physical book and turning the pages, plus I love knowing my bookmark is always where I think it is, and a real book is great if you needed to quickly bounce back to re-read, re-check something! If the kindle was cheaper, say 100, then I might consider it, but right now it it WAY too expensive. I can buy 30 to 40 paperbacks for that price, and those paperbacks are enough to last me years! I have the stanza reader on my ipod touch, and that is more then good enough for my digital book reading needs. There are tons of good classic books that are free, and it isn't really that bad reading them on the touch either! Oh and free was better than $380 for a Kindle :) Speaking of the ipod touch/iphone, there is a Kindle app out there, you should check it out... I would have but it isn't available to Canukland :(

His scooter is a Yamaha Majesty. It's a 400 cc...It's damn near a motorcycle. He looks super cool on it. Haters! LOL.

I have a 1300 VTX with pipes that make MY ears hurt and my neighbors hate! I am glad to hear that there are people who care and are aware. Sure doesn't feel like it sometimes.
