Life in the big city, or little itsy bitsy town

I am starting to get into a routine now.  Unfortunately, it includes being a bit of a slug.  There is a nice gym right here in the apartment complex, costs nothing, but I still haven't gotten there.   I am told I am losing weight.  Yeh, prolly all that muscle I spent years building.  I need to get back to lifting!  It's just that.....I don't really have enuf time before work unless I get up even earlier.  I have my priorities!  Answering emails, writing blogs, and playing with Keesha are right up there at the top of the list.  It sorta reminds me of the days long ago when I worked 3 to 11 shift as a staff nurse.  I would sleep in a bit, have breakfast and 2 cups of coffee.  Hang out for a while.  Then run (yeh, that was a loooong time ago) or go to the gym to lift.  I'd be back around noon, shower, eat lunch, hang out some more, leave around 2:30 for work.  Get back home around midnight, go to bed.  Rinse and repeat.  But now, that time in the morning isn't several hours, it is only about one hour, and I just can't see running down to the gym to work out in that amount of time.  I know, slacker!  There are a million ways to talk yourself out of exercise.  I'm really good at it.  Even tho I have exercized in some capacity since I was a wee child.  I was a dancer during my youth, starting at age 3.  Talk about exercise!  Enuf of that.

Sunday is my birthday.  How old?  Ageless, of course.  I am going on a "date" with gilbert Saturday evening.  I couldn't refuse him and it means going to a nice restaurant and wine.  Yay, wine.  I can pick up some more of my stuff, and the tax forms, and whatever else.  Yes, we talk on the phone.  And he has asked to come see the apartment and meet Keesha.  Not yet!  But I did tell him to call first and not just stop by.  Ha!  He doesn't even have the address and I don't think he even has the town right.   That's ok.  That's the way I want it for now.  I find that even on a relatively short phone call, I still tune him out automatically.  I have had so much practice!  Ah well, makes like more tolerable, I guess.

I have gone down my list and accomplished quite a few things.  And it feels good.  Next thing on my list?  Saturday.....to the gym!
