Uh oh...  The adrenalin is gone.  I'm all settled in.  Work is going ok.  The NM absolutely luvs me!  And I am in a good place.  Soooo, why do I feel the lonliness creeping in?  This happened when I left my first husband, and I considered taking him back.  NOT!  And this isn't about gilbert, either.  It's just that, I have never been alone in my entire life.  I was married to "the other one" when I was 16, had a baby by the time I was 19, and another 3 years later.  So, I have always had the kids, my family and then my 2nd husband and more family--grandkids.   I luv the independence that I now have.  I feel strong!  I make decisions based on what I think, not someone else.  I am free to come and go as I please, and not answer to anyone but myself.  Well, maybe my kitty, Keesha.  I know this is a common thing, to feel this way once the excitement has passed.  So, I will work thru it and keep busy and continue to luv life!  That's all for today.

I think when you make meaningful changes it's only natural that you have moments where you feel pulled toward the familiar. Even wonderful things are new things. You sound like you are doing great and are smart enough to know this is only a moment. Congratulations to you for putting yourself in the position to be yourself and live your life your way - happily. So many people let fear hold them back.

I'm very happy for your new found feeling of independence and self worth. However I can't help feel sorry for your husband who has been left sick and to his own devices in his twilight years. I really hope my wife doesn't decide to leave me when I'm no longer young and exciting.

that feeling will come and go pearly, but stay strong and work through it and it will return with less frequency with time.

Sounds like tremendous fun!! If you can afford it come spring I would just have a second roof put over that area....the cost really isn't too bad and you won't have to worry about your roof falling in one winter.

@Azuredreams: It took an awful long time to make this decision. I mean years. And, yes, he has prostate cancer, but his doc works in my clinic and he said he will die of old age before he will have any problems with his cancer. And we do keep in touch, frequently. And, why do I feel like I have to defend myself?

Be careful with that hatchet...I would recommend a new roof with some ICE & WATER Shield under the shingles for at least 3 feet or depending on your roof pitch and sun exposer 6 feet to all of the roof...this will help if water does climb up your roof due too ice dams it gives you a fighting chance against leaks..costly but worth it.Ice dams also come from not enough air flow in your eaves to your peak of your roof ( Ridge Vent ) if you have any questions PM me and maybe I can help you out

You don't have a slate roof right? I've noticed some on Maple ave do have slate roofs. Its something I'm worried about aswell, no slate here. I have gutters that dont work for shit because it doesn't drain off very well with some of the leaves that fell after I cleaned them. Good info Jedi. Funny how I know what you're talking about after I had a new roof put on over the summer

Dude, sorry about the roof. I would like to point out however: "My wrist is still swollen today...I truly live a charmed life." I take it you've been visiting Durty's 12 days of Xmas. Oh, and Jedi, you just got added to my list of people I ask truly stupid household repair questions. Sorry, it's a short list. You're number two.

You don't pearl. I'm sure there are many issues here that you haven't shared that you based your opinion. It would be foolish for anyone to judge your decision just based on what you have written.
