Snowblind.

Title Update Three and the Snowblind Map Pack are released for Gears of War 2! That means another go-round with a title that's been collecting some dust on the shelf of yours truly.

Of course the details are well-known to any gamers who care at this point, but the achievements themselves are what I'm truly interested in. 250 new points, many of which I'll likely never get due to my distaste for random public matches, are up for the taking. As of this writing, I have just completed the Horde achievements for the new maps. Surviving ten waves on each map and all 50 waves on the new map of my choice (which was the Grind one, whatever it's called) was not too difficult really. I played with one guy I recently met on a gaming forum and he brought his friend. The three of us took down all enemies, only dying maybe six or seven times. Was fun!

I also completed a multiplayer match (as well as the wins) on each new map for a couple more achievements. Unfortunately I still don't really like public matches so the achievements for leveling up may not be an acquisition of mine. So, with the new content coming out on March 31st, as of 3:30am on April 1st I have essentially done what I wanted with the DLC.

The new maps themselves are okay. One is a revival of a Gears 1 map, Fuel Depot. I was happy about this because it was one of my favorite maps the first time around. The irony of all this being that today was my one solitary day off this week and I got snowed in. Schools closed, businesses closed early, I rescheduled my day, and I murdered Locust scum on the snowy landscapes of Sera. All. Day. Long.

I also baked a cherry pie.

In non-gaming-life news, I've filed my taxes and budgeted my next month or so. Looks like I'll have my new car paid off by the end of April if things go as planned. Probably jinxed it just typing that but oh well. Spring is coming! Yay!
