I just wanted to vent about the fact that the world has gone completely multi-player and left the rest of us to spend $60 bucks for a game that lasts 5 or 6 hours. I do enjoy multi-player once in a while but usually on the occasion that Im having a few drinks and just want to shoot the shit and play some games with others. The fact is, I play games to get away from people and like to go at my own pace. Most of the time, after a long day, the fast pace of death-match is just too much for me. This is why most of the time I am doing the single-player campaign. Now this brings me to another gripe. Even the story part of most games these days will even require you to at least have a partner to get through the higher difficulty levels. For example: Try playing Gears of War 2 on hardcore or insane. The part where you need to defend the Com-array from the reavers. When the checkpoint starts, Dom says " Use the Turret " Dom then stands there looking about as if hes on vacation on some tropical island, looking for the Tiki Bar. Now, if you dont have a human to join in for parts such as these, and mind you this is just one of about a thousand examples, you cant even finish a solo campaign! Does this mean that game developers are in cahoots with microsoft? Pay the fuckin money for a gold membership or FUCK YOU! Thats how it seems. Every month, there are new multi-player maps to give people more places to shoot their friends in. And they charge you $10 bucks to get it! All the while, the small minority like me who just want to buy a game and not feel like they just got suckered out of their hard earned money, are left to either join the masses and run around in an HD, Dolby 5.1 induced stupor, shooting at people, or just shut the fuck up and enjoy the game for all its $10 bucks an hour single-player "glory". Of course this is just my opinion.
