Great Reading From Lans Past

So....you want us to go to the Lan, right? I know that sales aren't where they need to be, or usually are, not in the least...but all of the blogs about it seem a little excessive, especially when they are coming all at once. Sales aren't down because people don't think the Lan will be fun, it's just that a whole lot of people are financially strapped right now. For a lot of people this is at best a choice between doing something as a family and going to a three day party....at worst, a choice between paying their bills and partying. There are so many people on this site without work, some who have had their hours cut, some of those who still have jobs aren't being allowed to take vacation time... So I can stop typing examples, let's just suffice it to say that the economy fucking sucks and it's not going to get better anytime soon by most accounts. This isn't good for anyone involved, and I know that the Lan is a blast, but shoving it down everyone's throat every few hours doesn't help anyone get a job, or get more vacation time, or come up with the extra money to pay for the trip, hotel, food, and ticket. We know it's a blast, we've heard it, we've watched it, and 99% of us would LOVE to go...but obviously a lot of us just can't. So yeah....just my two cents, not meaning to offend or upset anyone.

im not going to use the economy blows as an excuse not to go. lets say i lost my job after the lan, would it make a difference? i mean would the 300-400 bucks i spend save my house? or my car? or anything else? i say f the economy, the economy makes me want to drink and party to forget all that bs. something to think about to, your a more active member then most, so we are just trying to reach out to all those people who dont know that much, who hide in the cracks of 2o2p, the people on the fence about going, first timers.

I think it costs a bit more for some of us out there...I couldn't go for that price, that's for sure

Dildoes aren't exactly a selling point.I recommended the site to a friend and after looking at pics of guys wearing wangs he said "no thanks".It's not a good way to sell it to your spouse,either.

Okay, okay okay... so there are lots of blogs about lan. This is just a topic that people in the P&W crew are passionate about. Part of it is knowing that it's tough out there and we want to hype this thing as much as possible. BUT 99% of this hype comes from a great place. The folks around here are working their buns off to try to find ways of getting more people to go. Why? Because it's the frosting and cherry on top of the 2o2p experience. It's how we bond as a community. We also have a ton of new members that we want to meet. That being said... it's tough out there. We know that. That's why we are working our adorable little buns off trying to find ways of cutting costs, creating contests, offsetting some expenditures... you name it. So yeah... if we have Lan on the brain, it's cause we are working hard to figure out ways to get people there. If it's overkill, okay. Mea Culpa. And @Deman: it's a great time, and it's a bunch of boys getting together. Immaturity and hilarity happens. Now you know. And as for selling it to your spouse: Some of the ladies of The Cabal are going to be there.... we take part in a completely different type of immature hilarity. Your wives and girlfriends will have a fun time.
