A Sad Post

Im starting to feel like bad luck. Last year while Shakes was in Korea and his mom was out here visiting to help me out, it was announced in Sacrament meeting of our old Congergation that one of the young men in the congergation was swept away in the ocean. It was devastating. I think I posted about it here so it might sound vaguly familiar if youve read my blog for a while.
The In-Laws are in town again, and when we went to church yesterday and got another devastating announcement from the podium that one of the 18 year old young men in our ward died the night before in a car accident.

It was a double whammy because it brought back up the feelings from last year and added a whole new layer to it. Shakes is over the 12 year olds in the congeregation for Scouts, and Gabe was 18, but he still interacted with him frequently. When Ross died last year I knew of him, but didnt know him other then knowing that he was one of the redheaded boys in the cool suits who passed the sacrament at church. I dont have anything more then being a passing acquaintance with Gabe, but Ive actually talked to him and I sang in the choir with his mom. In fact I was just drooling over his hunky water polo player's body during the service project over memorial weekend when we went camping. (with Shakes permission and not in a creepy cougar type of way) So since I instantly knew who it was, its hit a bit harder then last year. These are all good kids. The type that have a brilliant future ahead of them. Eagle Scouts that were getting ready to give two years of their life to serve missions for our church.
Its so sad. Parents should NEVER have to bury their children.
My heart goes out to Their Families, their friends, and the Aloha High School Graduating class of '09 (Gabe would have graduated on Tuesday.)

I hate hearing stuff about kids being sick, terminally ill, or even worse death. Really sad Lady, my thoughts and prayers are with the family.
