Fucking Stupid - An inarticulate soap box rant

Ok, so, we're making clove cigarets illegal now. Fuck that. I smoked those all the time in  high school, and  while I no longer do this, I believe that as educated as even the most illiterate american is about the health issues of cigarets, we should be able to make the choice ourselves. I did. Clove cigarets are NOT marketed to children. In fact, they're NOT EVEN MARKETED. You would have to search on the internet for hours to find an advertisement for Djarum cigarets, a foreign company that imports their cigarets here. Not part of big tobaco, not marketing to kids, still being banned. 

Ok, we ban drugs, cigarets, and books. Argh. 

Another thing, this bill started going through Congress 50 years ago! Can you believe this? This is the same government bullshit as the "war on drugs," which arguably has driven the drug industry, drug abuse, and helped to fund terrorism. This is the same kind of savage hipocrisy as being pro life and well, just living in America. Some people have such shitty lives that maybe a cigaret is the only moment of levity they can enjoy. You going to tell a marine in Fallujah he can't smoke a damn cherry flavored cigaret if he wants? Fuck this shit.
