This Year's Lan

There is a lot of discussion going on in the P&W group.  Some say we have failed to draw enuf people to the lan to pay expenses, let alone have a great time!  There is worry that we have not done a good enuf job promoting the lan.  What else can we do?  Ticket sales are low, yes.  But is saying over and over how wonderful and fun the lan is going to make people decide to go?  Prolly not.  I know it is an expensive weekend for some.  The room cost, food, airfare, etc.  Oh, yeh, booze!  Gotta have it!  It all adds up.  I have heard "how can I justify spending that much money when [insert reason here]?  I know of a few that could not get off work.  Myself?  Technically, I cannot get off work, either.  But, I will have a family emergency that will call me out of town for 4 days.  (god help me!)  I have heard reason why peeps can't go, and reasons why they ARE going.  I truly do not believe it is lack of interest.  When lan attendance is discussed, everyone I have talked to really, really wants to go, but......

I know I will be there, along with many of my friends.  I anticipate having a great time, like I did last year.  There will be more of you that I will miss being there, cuz, just....you will be missed.  But know this!  If you have heard that the LAN may be cancelled this year, NOT!!!!  We are going ahead with it, even with low ticket sales.  I heard that right from doodi's mouth to my ears.  The LAN will not be cancelled!  We just sincerely hope that if there are any slackers out there that intend to go but haven't bought tickets yet, please get on the stick!  I want to see more friends I've never met, as well as those I have.......again.
