Shared on Tue, 07/07/2009 - 06:17Whew! I'm glad that's over! Monday! Ever since I was a waitress back in the day (?), I have hated Mondays. So many slackers out there. Oh, I forgot! I didn't have time. He's here? I thought he wasn't due till next week. I don't know this person. I am covering for [insert doctor's name here]. I'm talking about work, of course, and specifically doctors. I had two patients waiting for me when I got there, and so I went right to work. Oh, yeh, no chart, no orders. Lucky me to get two of them first thing. I had both literally all day while I was hunting down charts, docs, and orders. They were pretty good about it. I was a basket case. They had no idea how many phone calls, pages, etc. I had to do to straighten out two messes. Oh yeh, about the waitress thing. Did you ever notice that Monday is the slowest day for restaurants? Enuf said.
On the brighter side, I think, is the Lan is getting very close now. All the arrangements have been made. Oh, all except Keesha. I think I will ask my daughter to keep her. I am looking forward to the best partay I know! Even a little smaller this year, still great fun! And two of my buds are rooming together. Hmmm, wonder what they may have to say about me. Ack! Prolly nothing at all. Too busy partying. Oh yeh, they both drink Jack. hmmmm I am a little worried, tho. The closer it gets, the more I try to think of a good reason to call out from work. No, I cannot have those days off. But a horrible family emergency could not keep me there. Do I have someone call me at work hysterically telling me something really bad has happened? Do I call out the night before, crying that a family member is dying? Yes, it will have to be that dramatic, or I am dead meat. And it doesn't make sense. There is NO TIME OFF during the whole month of August cuz of us moving to the new hospital. People have tried and been turned down. I have just kept my mouth shut. What really sux is that we are not moving until August 17. Wah! 'snot fair! And most of us agree, that we were not hired as moving vans. We do patient care, not packing and lifting. Ack. It sux.
But, I will be there! I am totally addicted to Awesome Town Lan. Once you have gone to one, there's no turning back. No, this is not yet another plea for more attendance, just a fact. It will be a blast! That's all.
