I really dig the lore of the Halo universe. I don't however, dig the games. They are all top of the line games but after getting burned with the ending of Halo 2 I was done. I keep seeing people base their opinions of the new Halo 3 spin off ODST on content vs price point. I was thinking whats the big deal, if a downloadable only game can get high scores and be short why can't this. I know shadow complex got rave reviews and is supposed to be shorter than the campaign in ODST. I think the one kinda weird point to the price of this game has to be that multiplayer disc that comes with it. That disc contains all the halo 3 multiplayer maps ever released. If your a big Halo fan you probably have all those maps already and I don't see how that carries value but it might. I think the one big thing that adds value is the Halo Reach beta. I don't agree with reviewers factoring in the price point of this into their reviews. The worth should be left up to the person buying the game. Well enough of that onto Call of Duty. After seeing a lot of multiplayer footage from the recent event I kinda feel bad for anyone else trying to push multiplayer. Uncharted 2 is going to rock , MAG has a ton of potential but I think once modern warfare 2 ships its just going to overshadow everything.

From what i've heard, i think ODST is a complete fucking waste of money. A 5 hour campaign for $60? That's nothing more than an expansino pack and i seem to remember being able to buy those for 15-20 bucks. Firefight isn't worth 60 bucks either, it's nothing but horde mode done for ODST and it's the mode i played least so no excitement there for me anyway. THen the map packs for Halo 3? I hven't played Halo 3 in over 2 years so why the hell would i care about getting these maps.... iw ouldn't. So again, no value for me and i couldn't give a crap about reach. So overall this in my opinion is a total waste of 60 and will not be buying ODST. The only part i was excited about with ODST is hwo they were going to tell the story by having you play through as each character you're trying to find and then you play as that character to see what happened to them. That's a cool idea but 60 bucks for 5 hours of play? That's just not a value.

I am not buying it either like I stated above. In my opinion games like Uncharted 2 or Modern Warfare 2 at the same price point give you so much more. However Tank, I think we fall into a minority on this one. Halo ODST has gotten around 1.35 million pre orders alone. It might be a great game for that 5 hours but everyone just goes ga ga over Halo. Even after this I still believe that a reviewer does not have any business hammering or glorifying a game for its price point. In the case of Halo ODST I have seen reviews that seem to go out of their way to justify that price and ones that just go all negative with it. I think thats between the consumer and the publisher only.

I stopped playing halo once I played Call of Duty. And I've been waiting for MW2 since COD5 came out. I'm sure there are a few hundred thousand people like me who still play mw ONLY who will jump to the new, as will all the people playing W@W. This will be the #1 selling game ever. You are right, it will overshadow quite a few other games for about 6 months. As for halo....it has a familiarity to those who have played the series for years. For many of them the pace of COD is just too fast and they find it frustrating or are annoyed that they constantly getting beat. So they migrate back to where they can do well.
