So I have a vacation day today.  Originally wanted last Friday and couldn't get it but got yesterday instead, until my boss decided he was taking it which left me with today.  And some vacation day!  By 11:30 this morning I had gotten 6 phone calls from work regarding various issues that required my attention and/or my assistance.  I have a laptop now because last year I spent many of my vacation days going into work anyway.  So I have one more issue to solve (requires me to log into the network from home) and then I am turning my phone off.

Anyway...thanks to Doc Killinger for pointing out the tie between glaucoma and sleep apnea, I will ask my doc about that next time I go in.  Truth be told I was having some vision impairment which, tied with the bathroom trips, was making me think I might be diabetic.  Blood work showed otherwise though, and since I've been on the synthroid my vision has smoothed out.  Ah yes, one side effect worth noting: irritability.  Major levels of it.

Since I had the day off I decided to go out and get some new tires.  About a week ago my steering wheel began to turn left to right on its own and the front end of my car began to wobble.  I thought perhaps the tire pressure was low but it turned out I had a bent rim.  So while I was at the place this morning I just bit the bullet and bought 4 new rims as well.  Got some good tires this time out, spent almost $700.  I also spent just under $200 over the weekend on an oil change and some transmission work.  Still need new brake pads and probably should look at getting the muffler replaced soon too.  Good times indeed.  Also a good thing I've been working so much overtime heh.

Probably a bit late to mention this, but I wanted to throw out some kudos to what I considered to be the Game of the Year for 2009.  Lots of great titles came out, and while I was fortunate enough to be able to buy everything I wanted I didn't get to play everything either at all or as much as I would have liked.  2 reasons for this: 1) not enough time and 2) I kept going back to what I consider to be the best game released on the 360 last year:  Sacred 2.

Its a PC port sure, but from all accounts the console version runs better.  The game is deep and immensely fun.  Think of it as a Diablo light.  I have put well over 300 hours into it to date and am back playing it again.  I even stopped playing Mass Effect 2 (which I was enjoying) to go back to playing Sacred.  There are some bugs and some wonky things you will run into, but the game is so damn addictive and there are so many ways to build your character up that you just keep playing it without even thinking of stopping.  And then there's the loot...mmm, loot.  The level cap is 200 and I the highest I have taken a toon so far is 89.  The loot and overall game experience changes vastly after 75, so I can't wait to see how things pan out once I get closer to 200.  If anyone was on the fence about this or is remotely curious about the game I will tell you this...ignore the reviews.  There are a lot of mediocre reviews for this game that completely miss the point.  If you like loot-a-thons and good RPG type gameplay then this is a good title for you.  I have come up with some good builds on my own for Shadow Warrior, Dryad, and Inquisitor so if you are looking for tips on those classes look me up on Live and I'll throw some pointers your way.

Ok, time to go back to work.  On my day off.  Next time out I'll tell the story of my new 5-string Ibanez and how much I love it.
