Shared on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 12:18I got into Boston Saturday a few hours before the Gamers Gone Wild party to see if I would be able to sneak into PAX without a badge. Fortunately I managed to borrow a friend's badge for a couple hours and got to check out the sights in the expo hall.
Dante's Inferno
Rockstar's booth, giving the big push for Red Dead Redemption (which, from what I saw, looks like it's going to be incredible)
Inside the Turbine exhibit, where they had set up a number of terminals to play Lord of the Rings Online, and the Bioshock 2 booth right behind it.
One of the better costumes at PAX. One of the people I met at the GGW party said the easiest way to sneak into PAX without a badge is by dressing up like the dude above. I may have to try that next year (not that security was very tight - one old guy standing at the door to the convention center and it didn't look like he was looking for badges).
Kind of dark because I was trying to get the Xbox 360 sign, but the bottom half of the pic is an area set up with terminals playing Crackdown 2 (and the line to get in). If I had more time I absolutely would have waited in that line.
ATI's booth showing off Eyefinity technology. The six monitors are playing a game at 5670x2160 resolution, and it was incredibly smooth!
The Ubisoft booth with about a dozen terminals playing Splinter Cell Conviction.
If you ask why I took this picture, I ask that you return your man card at once.
Strip-a-chu
Carlos Ferro, voice of Dom in Gears of War. He insisted that I crouch down for the picture to be taken, because "nobody can be bigger than Dominic Santiago". He was one of the most down-to-earth guys there, and had some great stories as a voice actor.
That's all the pictures but I have another 20 minutes of video from the GGW party (including the Adam Sessler clip below). I will be editing and uploading that video within the next day or two (in the meantime, keep an eye on Caesar's blog later tonight or tomorrow for Omega's modded 360 drawing).
