Ulcerative colitis.

Hubby got scoped today. It's one of those things where I wondered if I should even blog about it. I mean, it's his butthole. Kind of a private place right? Well...once I saw his Facebook status update this morning, I figured I was clear to blog:

Great day on tap. Up at 5:00 a.m. to drink an entire bottle of laxatives, then into the doctor's office at 9:00 a.m. to have a GIANT camera shoved up my butt. Still, it beats going into work.

I'm not sure a colonoscopy beats going to work, but I'm happy we know what has been making him so sick. UC is a chronic, autoimmune disease. Doctors don't know what causes it and only surgery to remove the affected part of the colon will cure it. He starts with drug therapy to control symptoms for now.

From what I've read so far, chances of colon cancer are 5 fold once you have UC, but that's not too much higher than the average person. The vast majority of sufferers will die of something else like any other healthy person. Basically, this seems to be a quality of life disease, not a kill you dead one. That is good news and I'm relieved. 

I'm off to Barnes and Noble to pick up some books and get my UC learn on. I've got his colon pictures all scanned so he can enjoy them on his new iPad and show them to all his friends at work. I'll spare you the pictures. =)

Yeah.... the vocal stage is great. She says all kinds of great stuff. My personal favorite is when she says "daddy's peepee HUGE!" yes, honey it is. But we don't say that stuff in walmart.

Cool stuff. i was looking around for pictures of my bass. I don't have much. Not a bad setup. I figure the practice amp will be good for home and I'll leave the bigger amp over at my buddy's place who is the drummer. I need to get some headphones too. I just can't wait to get this stuff, I haven't had this desire to play for 15 years.

lol her telling on you too funny. Reminded me of this one time I agreed to help my sister baby sit a friend of her's daughter. ANYWAY... so all was good, she loved the fact I was awesome at pretend play we got along great. The next morning I'm in the bathroom getting ready and she bust open the door. uhmm I wasn't exactly dressed yet. When her mom came to pick her up and asked if she had a good time, the first thing she said "Magda naked". Try explaining that one to a complete stranger =/

i'll have to hit you up if i ever get back into the "i wanna learn to play guitar" mood. i had the bug bad last year but never had the $$$ to get started. i could do it now, but the desire isn't as high now. sure it'll come around again after this dev cycle is over...
