While I seen the full potential of combining their 3D perspective gaming with motion control gaming to take things to the next level, i kind of feel like it's kind of all pieced together. I think all this stuff done in a console out of the box for the next generation of consoles will be a total win though.
Nice digg on microsoft in sony's opening video. He's standing there with move in his hand and says come on who wants to use their fingers as a gun , what are we in grade two? nice.
Sony wants to lead 3D by using the PS3 to drive it much like they did bluray. However 3D on the PS3 will require a 3DTV and Glasses so for me that's a FAIL. Only the most hard core PS3 gamers are going to drop another 2-3 grand on a 3DHDTV to 3D game so adoption by developers will likely be pretty low too if costs significantly more money to produce the 3D perspective.
Killzone 3 looks pretty hawt, everyone in the audience had to put on their stupid 3D glasses to watch it though... glasses=fail. Coming Feb 2011
More 3D enabled titles announced but not demoed include Gran Turismo 5, Crysis 2, Ghost Recon, Tron, NBA2K11 but not shown.
Playstation move looks like it's going to take the concept started by nintendo and take it to a level beyond anything nintendo's waggle sticks are capable of. It's true one to one motion translation between you and what your character does on the screen, no pre-rendered animations, hawt. PS3 will give gamers high def motion gaming and combined with 3D could really bring gaming to the next level. Although i think the controller with the ball on the end looks stupid, overall I think high def motion gaming is totally hawt. Sept 19th launch in the US for move, 49.99 for the move controller and 29.99 the navigation controller or $99.99 for the move controller and eye camera and a game. Lastly a bundle with the PS3 for $399.99. And PS Move titles will be 39.99.
Sourcerer demoed with move, looked hawt. Tiger woods was meh, not a toal fail but not hawt either.
Kevin Butler was on stage, did a little gaming standup act.... HAWT !
PSP gets a camera for augmeted reality gaming... fail.
God of war on PSP... hawt
Little Big Planet 2 greatly expands on the play create share mantra of the original, adds competitive modes and you can create puzzlers, shooters, rpgs, racers and rts games. It's really turned into a dev platform for creating games with and sharing with everyone. Hawt.
Playstation Network gets a 'plus' level for subscription based service.. FAIL. No more digging on microsoft for charging for Live which also has free and subscription based services. Now it's just a comparison over who's giving what for free and what for money.
Medal of Honor moving to modern day Afganastan, DICE is responsible for the multiplayer modes... beta june 21st launch Oct 12th 2010....HAWT!
Portal 2 announced for PS3... hawt. Portal 2 would be a great move game though they didn't announce move support.
Final Fantasy 14 MMO announced... fail
Assassins creed brotherhood multiplayer beta exclusive to PS3... HAWT
inFamous 2 announced with trailer, no demo... still looked hawt. coming in 2011
Twisted Metal announced exclusive for PS3, 16 player death match mode and a new objective class based game mode ... hawt
