Shared on Fri, 08/06/2010 - 05:52This one isn't a whinge, spleen vent, hatred type entry. It's a step back in amazement type entry. I'm still on the subject of BFBC2. Get used to it, I play the game a lot, and will continue to do so until I reach rank 50. Which will probably be some time yet as I am not the world's greatest player. In fact looking at the leaderboard will tell you I'm not even in the world's greatest top ten thousand players.
For the deprived (or should that be depraved) amongst you that do not play BC2 (shame on you), there is a game on there called conquest. This is a form of capture the flag. It's not a grab the flag and run back to your base with it game. It is a game where you capture the flag and put your own flag up and then attempt to hold the enemy off so that they can't capture it back. It is still capture the flag. I don't like capture the flag. I didn't like it on unreal tournament. I didn't like it on Halo 3, and I'm not gonna like it just because it's on a brilliant game that I have spent in excess of 300 hours playing. My point is, and you thought I was digressing didn't you ? No that was the build up to my point. My point is that most nights I team up with one of my clan buddies who does appear to like capture the flag because quite often when I log on he is playing it. You can only tell from the desk top what game your pals are playing. I use the xbox guide button and it tells me if they are playing rush or conquest. EA (let's hope they read my blog - not likely but let's hope) you need to addresss this. You would think they would tell you what is going on from the "play with friends" option. I've lost count of the number times I've joined friends playing online, only to discover they are playing hardcore.I can live with no map. I can live with not knowing how much ammo I have left (it goes click when empty). I can even live with having no crosshairs. Well let's face it EA don't really want us to use them. Who would go to all the trouble of getting the coders to write crosshairs in to the game, and then do them in a colour that no one can see. What I cannot live without is my kill cam. In my last blog entry I may have hinted at my hatred for the backseat warrior. I need my kill cam. Once I've been sniped by the same dude 2 or 3 in a row I need my kill cam to hunt the bastard down. All other duties and responsibilities go out the window - the price paid for being a vindictive bastard. Yes, I did digress that time but felt that I would be failing in my duty if I posted a new blog entry without any effort to inject a little venom. As I was saying before I rudely interrupted myself with spleen vent. I regularly team up with one of my clan buddies. If he's playing conquest, I leave him to it and go and find a game of rush. Now he has somehow done this to me on more than one occasion. Just before I look to join a game, I use the xbox guide button to check he is still playing conquest and join a game of rush choosing the put me in a squad option. When I get in to the game, he's already in the squad
Wontie - I don't know how you do it but I take my hat off to you
