I'd like to point out a couple of things about this picture that recently led to a degradation in my quality of life. The first and most obvious is the large toy undoubtedly presented to one of my children by a non-parent. That toy, named Sunny, is way too big to fit in a toy box, drawer, or closet. So it normally resides with its slightly smaller sibling right inside our front door between the piano and fireplace. Lately, my 3 YO has been "trick riding" Sunny which, much to her mother's dismay, involves standing up in the saddle. Yesterday the trick riding, neigh-neigh arena moved into the adjacent room more or less to the position pictured. Which brings me to the second item of interest. The brass colored, plastic doohinkus hanging on the wall above Sunny. That would be the thermostat.

The good news is that I now realize some dumbass *cough* me *cough*cough* forgot to cut the gas and electric feeds to our gas boiler this last spring. So now that stuff is done, we'll save a couple bucks on our gas bill. The bad news is that gas boilers don't run well with very, very, very little water in them. It will be fall before I really know if there's been any serious damage done to our furnace.   And by the time my wife realized the puzzling hissing noises were emanating from our radiators, the temp in the house was already spiking in the low 90's. And for the trifecta, our central air, which only covers a small part of the house, quit working over the weekend. When I sat down last night around 10:30 pm to write this, it was 86 inside the house. When I left for work this morning, my wife was threatening to offer "favors" to anyone capable of fixing our AC in a timely fashion. When I get home, if I'm lucky, I'll find out the repairman was a woman, and Sunny's been put out to pasture.

I have my own Sunny type ride on for my daughter, and resides in my living room. My daughter likes to sit on it and watch TV. Sorry to hear about the A/C. Luckily I work in an industry where I can get one of my employees to come by and fix my A/C when it goes out. Never had a boiler, so hope it works out ok. SHOOT THAT DAMN HORSE!!!!!!! :)
