Confession time. i have Timmy-like friends.

*hangs head in shame* There's just a couple of them, and i've known them since the Halo 2 days, and OUTSIDE of the game, they are good friends and somewhat normal people. But in-game...oh my. Annoying, shit talking, LOUD punkasses. Last night i made the mistake of letting one play with myself and a really cool 2o2per. My head is still ringing. The Timmy-wanna-be was more obnoxious than ever, due to not playing Halo for a few months. The 2o2per was quiet and probably wondering wtf i had a 'friend' like this for and why i would subject him to such an annoyance. After it was all over, i felt like i'd been babysitting a crackbaby. Who just ate a pile of crack. And candy. And washed it down with a 2 liter of Coke.

I'm still trying to find the balance. I don't want to completely ignore my old friends, even though they have their crackbaby Timmy like days. (I swear, that guy isn't normally that bad!!!) But i do NOT like that embarrassing feeling of saying 'hey my old friend is online and i'm inviting him' and then having some twatwaffle suck the life out of the party. No one wants to be the guy who brought the asshole to the party!!!

So i ask any of you who are bothering to read this: what do you do? I can't be the only one *oh gods tell me i'm not the only one?!* with asshole friends and cool friends. What do you do when they both want your attention at the same time?? Do you mix it up and just apologize later? Or do you let the assholes just...think you're an asshole, and not invite them?

I removed everyone on my friends list who was the least bit timmylike. I have 3 people on my friends list who are not 2o2pers.

I had 2 Timmy friends at one point. I made a choice to go with only 2o2p people in my friends list after they started crashing clan night.

loud and shit talking are not a problem, they are requirements. Define annoying for me.

I think there are only a couple of non-2o2p folks on my list, and even they're older non-Timmys. That being said, I don't generally mix the two. Purged all the Timmies and unknowns years ago once I found 2o2p.

Annoying: yelling and singing nonstop to the point you can't even say 'hey there's a guy with rockets at the place with the thingy'..he did not shut his mouth the WHOLE TIME. Seriously. We couldn't say anything. And he wasn't yelling 'hey there's a guy' he was just yelling shit at the other team, and singing. LOUDLY.

Most of my list is 2o2pers, but the few that aren't would be deleted if they acted like that. It's just uncool, when you're in a TEAM based game. Some people want to communicate and if they are limiting the other players that opportunity then he's out!

That singing shit is a quick way to get deleted. And, no offense, if you continued to invite somebody like that into a group of "normal" people, you would be gone from my list, too.

oh i'll NEVERRRRR invite him again! it was the second time i ever invited a non 2o2p person to play with a 2o2p person. The 2o2p person *this is getting old i might have to start using his name lol* had a non 2o2per in his party already when i joined, so i thought i'll bring in another friend...not realizing my friend would be such a douche. i was just wondering what you guys did if you actually had asshole friends and they asked for invites when you were playing with non asshole people. cos i'm a girl and get all soft and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by ignoring them or deleting them. yeah i know. sack up kitten!

agreed, +1 for twatwaffle. i think we're going to need to add that to the dictionary as both a noun and verb. you're going to have to take a hard line and only game with your timmy friends when no other 202p'ers are around. i used to use the excuse, "sorry, this is a clan only room", and your timmy friends will eventually get used to the idea. i used to split time between 202p and the sg site, and had to split time between groups of friends, but now a bunch of my sg friends are here:) none of them were really timmies, but there's a pretty hard line of 202p/not 2o2p, so it was easier to split time and not piss off my 2o2p peeps.

It's more a question of, do YOU enjoy playing with the twatwaffle? Yes? Keep him on your list. No? Delete. I personally would only mix people that I think will mix well.

twatwaffle love it, as far as Timmy's I'd keep them to yourself. seriously non stop singing would have caused me to leave the game.

i tend to keep my timmy friends and 2o2p friends seperate. Though when the paths do cross i am quick to jump on my timmy friends when they start acting like fools. But i also jump on 2o2p peeps who feel the need to be assholes to my timmy friends. It is a fine line and i try to keep the 2 groups seperated, but there are times when i bring in timmie friends because they are mature and respectful.

Probably some of the people I play with might be considered 35 year old timmies... They don't sing, but talk non stop shit when provoked. Provoked = someone started it. I might be a minority but I usually don't play with the "good game" crowd...so much more fun usually to play with the shit talkers.

I've had limited success with the following suggestions: Send your friend a message saying the room's full or that you're busy playing with a closed clan, and you want to play with them later/tomorrow/next week. Then make sure you do play with them later/tomorrow/next week and explain (more or less) why you blew them off. Ask the 2o2p'er if it's ok if someone potentially annoying joins the group. Make sure the 2o2p'er knows ahead of time that if it gets bad, they should feel free to bail, and again that you will catch up with the 2o2p'er later/tomorrow/next week. If they say it's not ok, then go ahead and bail yourself with a promise to catch up later, then do. As long as you're considerate, I find most 2o2p'ers are pretty understanding.

You have to remember we all have those types of people on the old friend list. I have people who I know don't mix. What I try to do is get them to clam down and if that doesn't work...I have to boot them. Not delete but boot them from the party. That's a hard thing to do but hopefully it will make them stop and think "man I should stop being a hyper ass d bag for 5 minutes" If they continue to be disruptive in the future I just wouldn't play with them. The group of friend you have online is ever changing and someone better and new is always around the corner.
